My friend and I went to a coffee shop this morning and walked up to two registers, stopped in the middle of a conversation. He ordered his coffee first at one and I did at the other.
My semi-confused cashier asked, pointing first at me then him, "You're not together?"
I said, "No. No, we're not."
And he adds matter-of-factly, "We're just pretending to be."
And we both just busted out laughing really hard.
